I’ve been going to this tattoo studio for years, and I could not recommend it enough! The artists are incredibly talented and take the time to really understand your vision, making sure every detail is exactly how you want it. The studio is always super clean and professional, which makes you feel comfortable the second you walk in. Everyone there is so genuine, nice, and welcoming it never feels intimidating like some shops can. You can tell they truly care about their clients and their craft. I recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and a great overall experience.

I walked in with my sister and brother in-law and were greeted by a very polite and kind staff member. They were very transparent about the wait time but we had no problem hanging out for an hour or two. Two of us were seen by Francesca and she was AMAZING! Super professional and kind and the conversation was easy. Our tattoos came out PERFECT. Another one of us was seen by Kate and she was also incredible! She let us sit with him while he was getting his tattoo done. She was super fun to talk to and it was all just good vibes all around. 10/10 would recommend either of these wonderful ladies. Will 1000% be going back to either one of them. The shop was very clean and organized with a very cool angsty style.

Just finished my second tattoo by Chris Mesi, first at houndstooth, and once again it turned out amazing. Chris is easily one of the best anime tattoo artists on the east coast and I highly recommend them. Don’t be alarmed if Chris is radio silent for a while, Chris reached out a few days before both of my tattoos to answer any questions I had and provide additional information. Will definitely be back for more anime tattoos. The new shop is also super clean, had tons of space (2 floors), and the other artists that were nearby were hilarious.

Originally booking with Chris Mesi I believed I was going to get a great tattoo from a well known artist. Unfortunately my experience couldn’t be further from the truth. When Chris moved shops I was originally hesitant but willing to travel. However, due to his very distanced scheduling I was aware of my appointment month but not the particulars on date and time. It is now over a year since booking so I wanted to reach out and confirm the appointment information. I emailed Chris in January, then in February as well as calls and messages left in those months with the front desk. All points of contact were ignored. For full transparency I did utilize a different email than what was utilized for booking but my email reflects my name clearly as well as it was stated in my email what my purpose for contact was. At this point I was completely tired of the chasing and wanted to cancel and receive my deposit back. I did not sign up to move shops or be ignored when I originally booked with him. I finally spoke with the shop manager and they stated they relayed the message and that because he’s so booked out he “lets his emails pile up and then responds once a week”. This is not reflective of my experience as Chris had not responded in over a month’s time. This final discussion with the shop finally prompted a response from him where he “apologetically” declined the return of my deposit. EDIT: Situation was resolved and the deposit was returned.
