The Pittsburgh Tattoo Studio

so I debated on leaving a review, but after reading other reviews I figured I should. early last month I came in and had my 3rd lobes pierced as well as my conch pierced. The piercer was super sweet and I had no problems with her whatsoever! I was planning on coming back for more at this point. the problem was about 5 days later I was experiencing normal swelling from my conch and I cleaned it as normal and the next day it got soooo unbearable. I went back to have her peak at it and ask for longer jewlery to be placed to help because I want even able to sleep at this point. A man was at the register and told me they dont carry any other jewlery and advised me to just take the back ball off of the bar and the "swelling should go down in 30 minutes" I hated that answer... how do you not have any other jewlery??? needless to say that made me anxious that the jewlery was just going to be swallowed by my ear so I ended up going to another piercer and she was amazed that they had no other jewlery, changed mine for me, and within 3 days swelling was completely gone. so thankful I didnt listen to that man and went to another piercer who saved my piercing and saved me from sooo much pain!! she told me my ear probably would've swallowed that jewlery if I left it another 24 hours.. sooo TLDR: piercer is very nice and pleasant but not worth the risk of getting a piercing here. they're no help for aftercare.

Got my first tattoo with Amy in Dormont and it was a fantastic experience. She made a size suggestion that was absolutely the right call, and I ended up with a tattoo I really love. Her aftercare advice was great and it has healed perfectly. Already planning my next one!

I cannot say enough good things about The Pittsburgh Tattoo Studio. Amy is AMAZING and she has done all of my work. I now have 17 tattoos and they are exactly what I asked for. I am attaching pictures of the four most-recent tattoos she has done.

I waited until my 50’s to get my first tattoo and was extremely nervous about the process. From the moment I walked in the door of the Dormont location, I knew I was in the right studio. The studio itself is very welcoming and relaxed, so I immediately felt at ease. I’d seen Amy’s work online and knew she was the artist I wanted to work with, and she certainly did not disappoint. She helped me refine the design I wanted and gave me some good suggestions on how to make it work. When it came to the actually tattoo appointment day, she helped calm my nerves and talked me through the entire process. Very friendly, very supportive, very professional and highly recommended! Not sure I have a second tattoo in me, but Pittsburgh Tattoo Studio is the only studio I would consider if I do.

$60. Thirds on my lobe. I wouldn’t come here again for piercings. The lady was extremely sweet but compared to other more professional experiences I’ve had, they’re just not to standard. I will be getting my left lobe re pierced as the placement is unfortunately off. No usage of measuring tools, all eyeballed. Not the biggest deal for me. Biggest issue I had was the usage of butterfly backs for the earrings. I will be going to someone else to swap them. No aftercare instructions. I also wasn’t given an option for the earrings at all, and jewelry that they have for sale just seems overall low quality. Unfortunately disappointed because they’re very nice people and the place is spotless and very professional looking inside and I previously had a great experience. I had gotten my septum pierced there by an apprentice (no longer working there) in 2019. The piercing is still holding up great today, even after stretching.
