I had gotten my first tattoo at this tattoo shop, and I feel like it shows. I had expressed my concerns with Scott at the consultation, one of them being that I DID NOT want my tattoo to look dark. I told him that I wanted the shading to be super delicate and for the whole tattoo to be very delicate and dainty. He continued to talk poorly about my reference photo (the fine line bouquet pictured) and how fine line would bleed through, the artist of the picture did a poor job, the shading was awful, and just went on and on about how awful the tattoo I had shown him was. I said I didn't care how the tattoo artist did, I just wanted mine to look similar to it and have the same delicate daintiness to it. This is when he should've stopped me and said that fine line was not in his specialty whatsoever. Mind you, I was referred to this artist by a friend who said that he was a great artist and could do any style. I had originally told my friend I didn't want to go to this artist because he wasn't my style, but my friend had reassured me multiple times that Scott would be able to do any style. During my consultation, other than Scott talking poorly about my reference photo, made it sound like he would be able to do what I was asking. Day of the appointment, Scott never confirmed a time with me. He just told me to come at the time that the shop opens. What he forgot to mention was that the shop open time on the website is very different from his personal opening time and I had gotten to the shop when the website said they opened, just to find out that he wouldn't be there until 1PM. I ended up going home until the new time I was given. I get there at 1PM (which he was still late to) and we go over the design (I had wanted to add different flowers than my reference photo). We scrolled through pictures together of each flower and I would point out flowers that I liked while he would scroll right past and say something negative about the flowers I pointed out. He continued to ignore all the comments I had made and picked out his own flowers that he liked. Not once did he choose a flower I had pointed out. So he picked out all the flowers he liked and put them all together in a bouquet. We get to the stenciling part and he puts it where I wanted it and it was much bigger than I had wanted. I kept saying to him from the consultation to the point of stenciling, "I want it small and delicate." He seemed to have forgotten that many times. He said that he would only be able to go a little smaller so I told him to make it as small as he possibly could. He makes it smaller than puts the new stencil on me. I say yes to the design and he preps his station and starts tattooing. Halfway through the appointment, he stops tattooing and tells me to look at it. The tattoo at this point looked pretty complete to me and was a *relatively* fine line tattoo with no shading done yet. I thought it looked good at the time and he said he just wanted to add a little more shading and then I would be done. I said okay. Little did I know, he meant he had a hell of a lot of shading left to do. Not once throughout the entire appointment did he mention how dark the shading would be or what I should expect with the shading when he was done with the tattoo. I was truly appalled when he finished the tattoo. Mind you, he did a great job with the tattoo. However, if what I show you isn't within your specialty, stop me there and tell me to go somewhere that does specialize in it. Don't continue the appointment making me believe you can do what I had showed in the reference photo. If you want your design to be considered in the slightest, don't go to him. If you want your time to be respected, don't go to him. This place truly baffled me with their lack of communication regarding designs and the time of the appointment.
