Red Octopus Tattoos

I’ve gotten 15/23 of my piercings done at Red Octopus in Crofton. The front desk staff are all super nice and very helpful. Charlie has done all of my piercings like belly button, nose, daith, rook, anti-tragus, and more. I’ve never had an issue with any of my piercings and they’ve all healed beautifully. I’ll always go to Red Octopus and to Charlie.

I had an amazing experience with Haleigh. She is so down earth, makes you feel so comfortable and does an amazing job. She has done 3 of my tattoos and I have no complaints. I sent her the image I wanted, explained what it was for and she did her thing. Front desk staff is very friendly and informative when you have questions. The shop is always clean and welcoming. I would highly recommend Haleigh for your tattoo needs.

I love this shop and the people in it. However their girl piercer Kiara takes forever. I went in there when they first opened and waited 25 minutes to get one earring changed. That’s ridiculous, this is the second time I have waited over 20 minutes for her. Their other piercer is fast and amazing i highly recommend him NOT her.

I came to Red Octopus Tattoos because I had an issue with a previous ear piercing that had become embedded and was causing discomfort. I needed help removing it and replacing it with a new earring. When I arrived right as they opened, the ladies at the front desk were very welcoming. They smiled, greeted me warmly, and were pleasant to interact with. Unfortunately, the experience changed once I was taken to the back. I explained my situation to the gentleman who assisted me and he recommended that I switch to a hoop earring, which I agreed to. However, the interaction felt very impersonal. He did not greet me, introduce himself, or ask my name before beginning the procedure. After removing the old earring, he immediately inserted the new hoop without cleaning my ear first. The pain was extremely intense — to the point where I almost screamed. When I asked if my ear had been cleaned, he responded that he would clean it “now,” but it still did not appear to be properly cleaned. My ear was actively bleeding and he tried to convince me that it was just red. I had to go to the restroom myself to get tissues to show him. The overall hygiene practices during the process were concerning. In addition, I was not given clear aftercare instructions — a sheet was simply handed to me without explanation. When I expressed how painful the procedure was, the response I received was dismissive, as if intense pain was simply expected and not worth addressing. What made this even more disappointing is that my husband and I have both had tattoos done at this location before and we appreciated that they offer a military discount for veterans. Because of that, we had a positive impression of the shop previously. However, based on this experience alone, we will not be returning. Professionalism, hygiene, and compassion are extremely important when dealing with piercings, especially when someone is already dealing with a complication. Unfortunately, this interaction lacked all three. I paid $113 for a small round hoop earring that is not even real gold like I requested. The package clearly says surgical steel.

Kira did my both my tragus piercings, she was professional, well informed and very personable. She talked me through everything as she was doing it, allowed me to see and adjust placement, answered all my questions and made it an overall pleasant experience. 10/10 would recommend getting pierced by her. I’m definitely coming back to her to handle my other piercings.
