Erie Art Museum

Great small art museum. An afternoon adventure. Quiet, not crowded lovely exhibits something for everyone’s tastes.

Quite impressed with our first visit today,l. We belong to another museum with reciprocal entry, which was great. It is on the small-medium size, but we really enjoyed all the collections. Our favorite by far were the local and contemporary artists. They were amazing! I wish more of the pieces were for sale! A great way to experience the surprising cultural vibrancy of the area. The various galleries in the different buildings were also cool, adding to the experience. Front desk staff member was very helpful and his outfit was artful itself. Would highly recommend to spend a half an hour to an hour for an afternoon!

I needed to come downtown again, so I decided to visit and photograph the annual Spring Show at the Erie Art Museum while in town. Most of my Spring Show pictures are on a different camera. Several of these pictures are from youth working with a teaching artist and the art museum's bronze collection.

Wow. Super difficult to park and find the entrance for these two first-timers! Seems the regular entrance is closed and the sign above the door in an alley that doesn't face the street! Oy. If you have difficulty walking and don't know where you are going, PLEASE CALL AHEAD. It was particularly difficult as my friend is 88, has a great deal of trouble walking, and tires easily. I'm happy to say, WE MADE IT!

First time I visited Erie Art Museum - very nice various art work on display in various rooms there. Art work done by local artists. Entry cost affordable. Front desk staff members very nice and welcoming. Small gift shop in main lobby.
