Great Lakes Tattoo

I can't say enough good things about Great Lakes. The shop is unpretentious and makes you feel completely comfortable from start to finish. I've been tattooed by Nick O, Nick C, Mike, and Danni. Majority of my pieces are done by Nick Osbourn and I couldn't be happier with everything I've gotten, the work is so clean. I know I will be spending lots of my money here. Grateful to have found the shop and always excited for the next time I get to go to Great Lakes.

Brandon Heuser Was my artist. I have had quite a few tattoo experiences. I want to say right now, this tattoo was at the top of my list. The Tattoo being excellent and professionally done aside, Brandon is a pleasure to work with on all the little details of color and shading and size but also to talk with. Our conversation meandered through a multitude of topics. All really great conversations. You cannot go wrong with Brandon. All for him by name.

Came in two weeks ago on a Saturday to get a walk in. I’m from out of town and picky about my artists, so I did my research before choosing a shop! I was excited to come in and get tattooed and loved the atmosphere of the shop. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and I was quoted $350 for the tattoo, which is no problem as I don’t mind paying for good work and good tattoos usually aren’t cheap. The next day my entire forearm was swollen and super sensitive, a couple days later I had a bruise around the entire tattoo. I’m not sure what happened as this is my 27th tattoo and I’m well versed in caring for them and I’ve never had this happen. Parts of the tattoo look super faded and almost scarred and the middle of the black swan is toast. I’m disappointed because I’ve never had this happen before and will now have to pay a local artist to retouch a good portion of the tattoo. Not saying it’s the shops fault as tattoos are subjective and 101 things could have caused this. Just wanted to share my experience.

Dani is fantastic! Professional, friendly and understanding. The shop overall is clean and welcoming with chill, good vibes. Nice bathroom. Knowledgeable staff. I got a winged foot above my ankle, and love it. Pain was 10/10 but this is my 2nd tattoo and I have a low pain tolerance threshold. I would recommend this shop, and come back again. This is the spot if ya want American/Western traditional styles.

Excellent tattoo studio filled with incredible artists and has great service. Stumbled in here on a cold Sunday and had my appt within the hour. They have a small library of designs behind the counter and even more on the walls for you to choose from. I brought in my design and they helped me make all the final decisions on the spot before giving me a quote. Can highly recommend a visit, even if you're still just thinking about what you want. Ask for Chip he's the man.
