Dead Sure Studio

I seriously can’t recommend Dead Sure enough. Aaron has helped me feel so much more comfortable in my own skin. After getting my mental health into a better place, I was left with a lot of tattoo regret and decided to start laser removal on a few pieces. I found Aaron through a mutual friend after several failed attempts to find an artist willing to take on my coverup. He beautifully covered something multiple artists had told me wouldn’t be possible without more laser treatments. I was so happy with how my sleeve turned out that I somehow went from “just a coverup” to having him work on a nearly full suit 😂 So far, we’ve finished both arms (INCLUDING MY PALMS!) and my full back. Aaron has made the entire process as comfortable as possible. Even when I’m being a big baby and tap out after a few hours. I’ve also saved a little space for all of the artists at Dead Sure. B has already done three pieces for me and one for my husband, and I can safely say she somehow made BOTH knee ditches a breeze. She has such a gentle hand! Jessie, Megan, and Sarah are all on my list next. Everyone at Dead Sure is incredibly talented, genuinely cares about their craft, and makes you feel comfortable and welcome. I really can’t recommend this shop enough 🖤🖤🖤

I’ve been tattooed by Megan multiple times. I would recommend her to anyone looking for something cute and whimsical. She’s a pleasure to work with. The other artists in the studio are fantastic, too. They are always all so friendly and really make you feel welcome. It’s not stuffy and pretentious like other shops I’ve been to. The artists at Dead Sure are not only professionals, but they’re fun, talented people, too!

I can’t speak higher praise about the tattoo that Sarah‘s done for me! I’ve been a floater around a few tattoo shops after my primary artist retired from the business and having followed Dead Sure Studio artists for awhile on Instagram, I finally arranged an appointment and so glad that I did. Not only was Sarah incredibly personable - she drafted the perfect rendition of what I was wanting for the start of my new sleeve and I’m looking forward to our future sessions together and working with some of the other artists as well. The shop was clean, the artists that were present (such as Aaron himself) were very welcoming and everything was incredibly sanitary. Hope to have many more projects with the shop!

I am so glad to have started my tattoo journey here with not only this really cool shop with really amazing artists. Sarah was fabulous with working with me on what I wanted for my first and second piece, and checking in through the process. Everyone there was super kind and the shop itself is an awesome and welcoming space, I highly recommend checking them out. I really appreciated walking me through the care instructions and having everything I needed to make sure I can keep this art pristine. 🥰 The two pieces I got mean a lot to me, and having one of the sweetest and most artistically talented person I know do them made them mean even more. I’ve come to Dead Sure from Wichita, Kansas four times — three for my own tattoos. The drive for me is some 440 miles one direction, and that’s the only drawback that I have to take away from my experience. I cannot recommend this place enough. When you walk in, it doesn’t feel like a tattoo parlor, much less one in downtown Saint Louis. The atmosphere is comforting, somehow. All of the artists in the studio are cut from an exceedingly rare cloth, and are amazing to talk to if you need a mid-session distraction. Every artist is incredibly talented, and I have yet to see the same diversity of portfolios in another United States based studio. The walls of the studio are emblazoned with trinkets, curios, works of the artists, and plenty of conversation-worthy things — up to and including a taxidermy pigeon. Where else will you get that in a tattoo studio!? My wife and I have both had work done by Megan. We are both thrilled with our results and any ideas that I present her with I would completely and fully trust her with. I have seen Megan’s work progress greatly in the time that I’ve known her and I will most certainly be back yet again. The banter in the studio feels more like a group of friends, and there’s always something to talk and have a good laugh about. It’s great for a midweek break, most certainly. You can expect an amazing piece of artwork, a friendly atmosphere, great conversation, plenty of snacks, and an experience that will leave you completely satisfied. And a taxidermy pigeon. 🙂
