First time visit and Alden was a delight. Comfy temperature, snacks, hydration. Great taste in music (and singing!). Light-handed and incredibly gentle artist; was wholly unexpected and appreciated. The location itself can be tough to park for but it's great walking distance to some lovely aftercare food. Very thematic space with lots ot privacy.

i’ve been a client here for about five years and have spent tens of thousands of dollars getting tattooed. i started going to her when she was first starting out, and over the years we built what i thought was a really good relationship. there was even one year where i had 29 tattoo appointments with her. before my last scheduled appointment, i kept reaching out to talk about the design and what we were doing, but i never got a response. then about a week before the appointment, i was told she could no longer tattoo me as a client. i was never given a reason or any kind of explanation. what hurt the most is that i still had tattoos that needed touch-ups, and we had always planned on finishing them. after she dropped me as a client, i reached out to another artist at the shop and was told i would have to pay their hourly rate to fix work that was originally hers. i completely understand that artists have the right to choose who they work with. that’s not what i’m upset about. i’m upset with how it was handled. after five years of loyalty, i expected at least a conversation instead of being ignored and then suddenly cut off with no explanation. i left feeling really blindsided and disappointed.

I dislike leaving negative reviews. Especially when I never got the chance to have an actual experience. But I feel like my experience is important. I found Alden on TikTok last year. I loved the vibe and the art They produced. A couple of months later I received a message from a scammer pretending to be Alden. Thank goodness I was smart enough to call the number listed for the shop and spoke to Sam, who confirmed it was not Alden. She got me in contact with the real artist, I made a deposit. I booked an appointment and I waited months. My tattoo was a memorial to my baby son that we lost 2 years ago. I booked the appointment closest to his 2nd birthday as I could get. Which would have been Saturday, May 2nd. Alden said they would message closer to the appointment date but I didn’t hear anything. I messaged 4 days before the appointment and it was 2 days later that I received a message back to my question. Now we’re 2 days before the appointment. I get a message about 30 minutes later stating that an emergency came up. They have to cancel the appointment and won’t be rescheduling. They refunded my deposit via Venmo and not much else was said. I feel like I was maybe forgotten instead. I was so excited to have my son be part of me again in some form. I lost him yet again and continue my journey to find someone to help me. I had super high hopes for this shop with Alden. I’m sorry we couldn’t work together on this. Regards, Laura

While my tattoo was simple, I was still very nervous. Sam’s intentionality, patience, thoughtful questions and compassionate self made my experience incredible. She’s a true artist and an even better human. The atmosphere felt safe and I can confidently say I’ll be coming back again.
