Golden Coils Tattoo

I’ve spent the last year letting Jason at Golden Coil slowly turn my leg into a beautiful American Trad masterpiece, and at this point I can confidently say there is nobody else I’d rather trust with my skin… or apparently my life. Jason is an incredible artist, especially if you’re into American Traditional. His work is clean, bold, and he somehow managed to make my leg look cooler than the rest of me. Normally I sit like a stone for tattoos. Apparently, I decided to switch things up during a flash piece last week and casually fainted/almost died on the table. Very humbling. Jason, Liz, Sam and who know who else handled it like professionals while I was busy fighting for my life… over a tattoo that I had voluntarily signed up for. So not only has Jason tattooed my entire leg sleeve over the past year, he has now also added “kept Michaela alive” to his list of services. 10/10 would recommend Golden Coil. 10/10 would get tattooed by Jason again. 0/10 would recommend whatever possessed my body to suddenly become dramatic. Come for the tattoos, stay for the possibility of receiving complimentary emergency medical supervision!

Don was awesome to work with! Very professional and clearly passionate about his craft. My Snorlax tattoo turned out amazing and still looks brand new even a year later. I’m already booked to go back for a second piece. Highly recommend Don if you’re looking for quality work that lasts! (update, been back for 2 additional tattoos and they're better every time. Highly recommend)

Liz Mercer is one of the best! I drive from over 2 hours away just to see her because she produces the finest traditional Japanese tattoo work! Tight lines good shading awesome designs. She's great at making sure I'm good, comfortable, and satisfied with the work, even following up to make sure I'm okay when my vibe seems different. I think I will name my first son after her.

Alex is the best tattoo artists in Raleigh! From start to finish, the experience was amazing. He was professional, efficient, and made the whole process feel comfortable and easy. Not only is he incredibly friendly, but his attention to detail and skill truly show in his work. My tattoo turned out even better than I imagined, the lines are clean, the shading is perfect, and the overall design is flawless. If you’re looking for someone who is talented, efficient, and genuinely cares about their craft, he’s your guy. I’ll definitely be coming back for my next piece!

I’ve gotten all my anime tattoos done by Donny! I wouldn’t trust anyone else to tattoo me other than the people at this shop. All professional, always timely, the environment is always clean & the music is always great. They keep it real with you about aftercare, they tell you straight up what their expectations are before coming to the shop for a session. The steps to get tattooed by them are clearly outlined. No muss & no fuss. I always refer anyone I know to the artists at Golden Coils. I’ve gotten tattoos from lots of people, but none I want to go back to as much as I want to go back to these guys😁 I’ll post pictures of what I have gotten so far. & I will absolutely be finishing up my sleeve with them when I have the time & money to do so!
