Beloved Tattoo Collective

I don’t think I’ve ever left a review for a business, but body mods are permanent and I felt the need to share my experience. A friend and I were calling around last night to get walk-in lip tattoos. Not many places do them because they’re known to fall out and be difficult, but this place said they could. The staff were lovely and very kind, allowing my friend and I to come in for a walk-in session. My artist put the stencil down, and told me to check it. The stencil was faded and blurry, just because it’s on a wet lip, that’s expected. It looked straight and correct. He tattoos it, and when I went to look in the mirror it’s insanely crooked, genuinely diagonal, and the font just looks like handwriting, not the type in the stencil. My friend got hers next, and asked for him to “do hers straight.” He responds saying she “has to hold her lip straight then”, implying that it was my fault that mine came out crooked. As an artist you’re supposed to position me how you need and straighten things out. I can’t see my own lip. It’s also soso far down that I have to fully pull it all the way out to see it. And like I said earlier, I know lip tattoos fall out easily, but I got this done last night, and the D is already pretty much gone. We paid $120 each, I assume that’s shop minimum, and then tipped $20 each. I was scared to speak up about it, because it’s permanent and already done. Everyone we spoke to was super nice, and it’s permanent so it is what it is at this point. But I did want to share my experience to caution others.

Mary, the piercer, was really nice to work with. She helped me with my nose piercing and was super personable. Cool person and will come visit again!!

I made a quick stop in here tonight because one of the balls on my rook jewelry (pierced yesterday out of state) fell out and got lost. Chicana was great and was able to replace the ball quickly and give me tips for keeping it secure in the future. Very grateful the shop was open this late on a Sunday night so I didn’t have to stress about it while trying to sleep!

Took my 16 year old daughter to get an eyebrow piercing. Chiicana and the whole staff were AWESOME! My daughter said she felt like we were visiting family and friends when we were there. My daughter had a ton of questions and the teamat beloved where so informative and encouraging. Chiicana did such a wonderful job with the piercing and educating us on the aftercare.
