Black Rabbit Tattoo - Carytown

New to the area, and walked past the shop and was immediately drawn in from the exterior decor. From start to finish (keep in mind I’m a walk in with no appointment) everyone treated me with kindness. They worked with my idea and did not rush the changes (went back and forth on placement and font choice). My experience and the actual tattoo were top tier. I will definitely be going back. Shout out to Koopa Caitlin for doing a great job and being so easy to work with. I’d upload a photo but I’ve still got the “second skin” protecting it! Thanks y’all.

I apparently forgot to post this review back in February, but I just got another tattoo done with Kim, so better late than never. I work with a lot of anime tattoo artists all over the east coast (as far as New York and Florida) and if you ever mention the name BunnyMachine to any of these artists, they immediately know who you're talking about- Kim, the owner of Black Rabbit. As one of those artists put it, Kim is an absolute pioneer in the industry for female artists. She has been tattooing for 20+ years at this point and this other artist credited Kim with being why she herself is able to do anime tattoos and be taken seriously as a female in the industry. Kim also hosts Anime Ink, an amazing tattoo convention/event every year that I highly recommend checking out. You might be tempted to think such a force in the industry would have an incredibly ego or be unapproachable. If you think that, you couldn't be more wrong. Kim is an incredibly kind, uplifting, positive person. Just so friendly and easy to work with. But, what about the tattoos? What we actually care about (mostly). Kim's tattoos are amazing. Sometimes I really enjoy when artists add their own interpretation or when an artist adds their own flair, but sometimes I just want the character as is. I just was unmistakably that character. Kim delivered a textbook Temari (and just recently Asuna) for me. Absolutely beautiful tattoos with clean line work, spot on colors, and unmistakable character recognition. She was also able to add her own touches through the cherry blossoms. An underrated aspect and a major plus for Kim is she is FAST. Neither of my tattoos are HUGE, but they also aren't what I would call small. I say what I would call because Kim banged out both tattoos in probably six hours combined. I was expecting closer to 10 hours between both. When I commented on how quickly she got done my Asuna tattoo, Kim just said, "Oh, that's just a little one. It was super easy." It's comparable size to the Temari tattoo. I have no idea how Kim is able to move so quickly without compromising quality, but if you're an individual who wants an anime tattoo, but can't sit for seven, eight, nine plus hours, Kim is your artist. Very gentle and very fast. I wish every artist were as fast as her because tattoos would be a lot less painful to get. I have now worked with Alyssa multiple times and Kim multiple times. I'd love to keep working with both. I'd highly recommend Black Rabbit tattoo. They have amazing artists and I guarantee one will fit your style. 11/10 would recommend.

My new favorite place! My out of town best friend was coming to visit and wanted to do bff tattoos.. she found Caitlin and we booked appointments with her. Our tattoos were similar but very different styles and Caitlin killed it, amazing! I have since gone back two more times and honestly I wish I had more ideas for art because I love getting tattooed by her!! She is so easy to work with and she makes sure that everything looks perfect before she begins. She is really professional and welcoming, as is everyone in the shop. I am absolutely so obsessed with my art. HIGHLY RECOMMEND having her do your next piece!!

literally the best!! i got my very first tattoo at black rabbit and i've been coming ever since. i’ve been tattooed by multiple artists here and they’re all amazing. the shop has such a welcoming atmosphere and they do such a great job at making sure you are comfortable. highly recommend coming to black rabbit whether it’s your 1st tattoo or your 100th :)

This is by far the best and loveliest place to get a tattoo. The staff is amazingly friendly and provides an atmosphere, that is just awesome. I felt like being with friends and the studio looks sooooo cool. Especially Meg is such a sweet lady and always has such an amazing energy, which makes the whole process soooo easy. The prices are also absolutely fair. I highly recommend this place.
