When I moved to San Antonio, the amount of artists in the area was abundant but when I saw McKenna’s work, I knew this is where I had to be. She is very attentive and has a keen eye for detail. I’ve been coming here for a little over a year now and every experience is like the first. Everyone is so friendly and the energy is always the same. The owner, and his team are solid and never miss a beat! No shop can compare to the energy and talent Southern Tattoo Society has to offer.

The shop was clean and the vibe was awesome. All the personnel were professional and helpful. The tattoo A-one did was nothing less than awesome. We will be back and would recommend.

this is now my second tattoo done by McKenna and im super happy with both of them!! she’s extremely sweet and has a lovely room with tons of beautiful art to look at. i opted for numbing cream this time around bc it was on my stomach/rib area and it was definitely worth it. hardly felt anything for the first 30-40 minutes. i feel comfortable went i walk into the shop and even more so in her chair. i’m definitely coming back again :-)

Southern Tattoo Society artists are amazing and have done 4 out of my 5 tattoos!!! Everyone here is very thorough, talented, understanding, sweet, and all around so comforting. McKenna did my second ever tattoo and was so sweet and really worked with me on my vision! I had had a pretty bad experience for my first tattoo with a separate studio and artist for my first so I was extremely nervous but she was so reassuring! McKenna did the bluebonnets and daisies with the red ribbon. Amazing work. Marze did my next two and literally made my entire dreams come true. I’m obsessed with Adrianne Lenker and her albums songs and instruments and the album covers for those are kind of like really pigmented watercolor flower paintings. I had a vision in my head but I didn’t think it would even be possible due to the art style but they literally made the most beautiful tattoo I’ll ever have the pleasure of getting. I honestly don’t understand the wizardry of how they managed to make it so perfectly exactly what I wanted. I’ve gone to two flash sales from this studio since and Marze did a cute beetle behind my ear and then A.One did an awesome Green Lacewing Bug for their Thursday flash event! They close at 9 and my friend and I went in at 8:30 because we were running behind and they were so understanding and made the stencils so quick and perfect first try. My friend had the artist Nyah and literally he LOVES his tattoo and we left just gushing about how great everyone is and how much we loved our tattoos. These artists are geniuses the way they all perfectly execute a lifelong art piece from an image in my head and a picture in my phone. They’re all so friendly and you can really tell they’re striving to make sure you’re comfortable and are really communicative with the process. I 100% recommend this studio! I honestly cannot say enough good things about this tattoo shop. I went in and got three tattoos done in one session, including a beautiful leaf piece on my leg, a rainbow flower on my side arm, and musical notes behind my ear. First off, the environment was super clean, professional, and welcoming. The artist made me feel comfortable immediately, and she made sure that every detail was perfect. Which including having a lot of patience as I decided where the stencil looked best. The leg leaf tattoo is seriously stunning—so delicate, clean, and well-placed. The linework is crisp, the design flows perfectly with my body and it made me feel more like myself. Also, the pricing?? As a insanely broke college student, they made arangements which allowed me to be able to get these tattoos. In the future I will 100% be coming back for more.
