The Collective Tattoo

Had the pleasure of getting a tattoo done by Elisa. I was pretty nervous to get this tattoo, but Elisa was incredibly kind, patient, and her attention to detail made me feel at ease. She was able to perfectly capture one of the most important moments of my life. I could tell she takes a lot of pride and joy in her work and in creating a welcoming environment for everyone. Amazing artist and an amazing person. Will definitely be back to get another tattoo from her soon. 20/10 for Elisa and the Collective

I love The Collective Tattoo: the studio is spacious, very clean and the artist’s art is displayed everywhere giving it a super fun “gallery” appeal. I get my work done by Elisa De Luigi and I already have 4 pieces by her with more projects to come in the near future! I discovered her through word of mouth from a friend, and at the time I was looking for unique art that aligned with my visions. Well.. she delivered! And brought my visions to life. Elisa is patient and puts my needs first, she makes sure I like everything about my tattoo before we start and never makes me feel like we are rushing through things. She knows what she’s doing and I completely trust her. I adore my tattoos and I get tons of compliments on them too. I have had multiple tattoos from Elisa When she was working at another shop, and I am still impressed by not only her tattoo work, but the general atmosphere of this shop. Everyone is extremely professional here, unbelievably clean environment from the moment you walk in to the time you sit in the chair. Her line work is incredible as well as the accents of color that she adds in to make the tattoo pop. Could not be happier with the results from Elisa on my latest piece (shin sleeve)

I was tattooed by Elisa. She was heavily recommended through a mutual friend and I had been following her for a while, so I felt like she was someone trustworthy to have tattoo me— particularly for how long I had been wanting this done and for what it meant to me. Part way through the appointment I noticed her look back at the design in a panic, but she said nothing and went back to tattooing so I thought nothing of it. Until the tattoo had healed enough for some of the heavy scabbing to come off (I’ve had blackout in other tricky areas and have never scabbed so aggressively or bled so much). Under the scab I noticed a stencil line that had been heavily tattooed over. I realized she had made a mistake, said nothing about it, and gone over it extra heavy. Either she didn’t notice, or was hoping that I wouldn’t. I reached out to the shop to tell them what had happened, and they encouraged me to let it heal longer and reach out to her. A week or so later I got a text from Elisa inviting me in for an appointment to discuss being “unsatisfied” with my tattoo. When I went in for the appointment, what I had hoped would be a consult on how to fix the mistake turned into a near 30 minute rant about how she was upset I didn’t reach out to her first, accusations of me trying to cancel or slander her, gaslighting me about there being a mistake at all, and belittling me by saying I couldn’t read a stencil. She also conveniently forgot to bring her iPad to review and compare the design in person. Somehow the blame had shifted to me and I ended up being the one apologizing to her at the appointment (and sure, I definitely could have handled reaching out differently, idk the politics of a tattoo shop. I just wanted a permanent mistake on my body acknowledged and fixed). She was so argumentative I didn’t have much chance to speak, and I nearly walked out of the appointment, but really wanted to come to a solution as we have a mutual friend. A couple days later she sent me the original design, and when I replied with a photo showing where there were not one, but two major deviations from the design in the area I had been trying to point out to her, she simply refunded my tip. No acknowledgment, no accountability, no apology. Not even a reply. Had she just mentioned there was an oops during the appointment, and allowed me the autonomy in deciding how it gets fixed, I would have had no issue at all. But to avoid accountability and take her frustrations out on me was deeply unprofessional and I would not recommend her for this reason. I’ve been hesitant to post anything about it publicly after how our last interaction went, but with her doing a giveaway I thought new clients might want to know.

I had an amazing experience working with Mathias (@nightshadeprince). He took the time to really collaborate with me on the design and made sure every detail felt right before we started. The session itself was smooth, and he was very attentive throughout. I especially appreciated how open he was to feedback and adjustments—it really felt like we were building something together. I’m beyond happy with how both pieces turned out and would absolutely work with him again.
