Visiting SF on a road trip and happened upon this shop in Chinatown for a walk-in, Tea got us in right away and was so nice! He worked with us on matching custom pieces and made sure everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend Tea if you’re in the area. Very good pricing for a custom and beautiful work 😝

Ellyn, one of the artists here, was super nice, thorough on what she planned to do for the tattoo, and concise with her aftercare instructions. Her care for the patient matches her great attention to detail. Would highly recommend !!

The guy at the front desk (5/1/26 noon) tried to talk me into doing a tattoo I did not like. I asked him if anyone else was available and he said no - didn't even look at schedule or spoke to anyone. So rude and unprofessional. Don't go there! They will try to do simplest job not caring about your preferences. What a joke!

My husband and I were on an anniversary trip, walking around and ended up at Golden Star. We had lucky timing as walk ins, as they had someone available. We met Tea, who was both awesome to talk to, and very talented. He ended up tattooing my partner that day, then scheduling with me for the next morning because we had a reservation to get to. He was so accommodating, and open to small, on the spot alterations that met our placement and desires perfectly. We are DELIGHTED with our tattoos, and had a great time chatting with Tea all the while. Also, he has a surprisingly light touch! All around awesome experience and we highly recommend Tea and Golden Star. Much love, Tea!!

I was just visiting the area back in May when I decided I wanted to get tattooed! The restaurant that I was at recommended Golden Star tattoo shop and it just happened to be within walking distance, so I went with my friend. Tea was sitting at the front and was immediately super nice and welcoming. Got to talking about the ideas that I had and BAM starting getting ready to be tattooed. I am really happy with how it turned out and how it healed. I did not have any issues. I was a little nervous getting a tattoo out of state (I live in FL), since I would not be able to go back in for a touch up if needed but I didnt even need it to be touched up! Tea truly did an amazing job and totally recommend him!
