Liberty Tattoo Seattle

Liberty is the best shop in seattle and the team genuinely cares about their art, clients, and generous hospitality. I have approx. 50%+ of my body tattooed and have been tattooed by every LT artist including guest artists. The quality, consistency, and bedside manner were exceptional. These dudes care a lot about their craft and they care about their clients just the same. The 4.9 rating says it all - good tattoos ain’t cheap, and cheap tattoos ain’t good. People be forgetting that.

I got my first tattoo from Trevor and have been going to Liberty Tattoo for close to 16 years now. Ive never been disappointed or had any issues. Hands down the best tattoo shop in Seattle. No discussion. Expect to walk out satisfied and eager to come back for another one. All the artists there are incredibly skilled and knowledgable about their craft and the history behind it. I cant think of a better place to get tattooed. The shop itself is a work of art.

Posting this a few years later as I’m still pretty upset every time summer comes around and I have to look at my leg lol. Reached out to Trevor in 2023 for a dragon tattoo for my leg. I had outlined what I wanted in email, along with photos for reference. Explicitly mentioning that I wanted a primarily black tattoo. I had came in for a consultation the day prior to my appointment when he said he didn’t want to do my tattoo due to its location on my leg. OK fine - said let me think about it and I’ll get back to him via email. Had the audacity to say I skipped my appointment when he told me to reschedule lol. Should’ve taken that as a bad sign then. Regardless, went through with my appointment. Since it was on the side of my leg, I was laying down the whole time and wasn’t able to see the progress. The sheer horror I had when I sat up and saw my tattoo was primarily blue and NOT black like I had explicitly mentioned… The fact that it’s in written communication that I wanted a black tattoo and artist didn’t even confirm before packing color in honestly feels unprofessional. It’s a beautiful piece, but I already knew my skin wouldn’t ingest the blue ink well. Waited a year hoping some ink would fade, but ultimately had to get two tattoo laser removal sessions to get rid of all the blowout/ink drift from Trevor being so heavy handed, which again, felt very unprofessional. He offered to go over the piece with more black shading, but at this point - I was completely over working with him. Still pretty upset that this piece was $450 and paid $800+ to get the blowout removed. Trevor is a great artist, but communication was consistently missed. Sharing my experience as an FYI to others (and don’t know if there’s some hostility from not being the average customer - but I’ll let readers interpret 🤷‍♀️) Photos include: initial reach out email, passive-aggressive response to my rescheduling follow up, photo of the fresh ink, and 2 photos showing the blowout EDIT: flagging some items from the artist’s feedback considering this review was made reasonably at 9am while getting dressed and being reminded of the experience, but I digress. 1. Time stamp of the email says 5/1/2023, so saying almost four years is a tad of an exaggeration considering this was posted on 6/1/2026. 2. Table was flat and my tattoo covers a decent chunk of my side knee - meaning my legs were pinned straight. Wasn’t sitting up, wasn’t laying on any angles that would’ve given me visibility. Just me flat on my back staring at the ceiling. 3. As you confirmed in your response, “you just said ‘mostly black, with some color.’ No problem”. So I expected the “colors [that] were poured out” to be part of *some* and not *most* of the piece. Again, it’s a beautiful piece - just not what I wanted.

I have gotten over 10+ tattoos from Liberty and each one has healed fantastic. I have got work done by Jimmy, Jake and Trevor. Liberty has a great vibe and has an amazing collection of flash from floor to ceiling. Killer shop doing amazing work. Zero issues.

I got tattooed by Trevor and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Trevor is super chill and great about communicating before, during, and after tattooing. Also, he works FAST. The pic I posted is a piece he did in about 3 hours! I created my own design (pic of my drawing included as well) and he did a fantastic job of putting his own spin on it while also keeping it as the design I wanted. The total he charged (including the $100 deposit) for this was $1000, which is obviously a decent amount of money but the quality is worth every single penny I paid. Pumped to have found my go-to Seattle tattoo artist!!
